Green Bay is an independent UK business specializing in the supply of certified-organic functional foods. 100% family-owned and managed, we buy direct from organic pioneers and have done for 25 years. All of our products are selected because, in addition to raw, natural flavour, they have remarkable nutritional and health benefits.
As a mother to four young children, I know that a diet rich in natural, unprocessed foods keeps my family healthy and happy. This is often difficult to accomplish. From experience, I have learned that complementing a few meals and snacks with a few of nature's 'superfoods' is a very convenient way of getting a lot of goodness into our bodies.
I founded Green Bay Harvest to promote increased awareness and use of natural, healthy foods so that we can make conscious, informed choices about what we eat and how it affects us. I am always amazed to discover the abundance of extraordinary foods that nature has provided for us - our organically produced Green Barley and Active Manuka Honey are just two great-tasting examples.
I believe that business can be a vehicle for social change. As a 100% family-owned business, we are committed to operating in a sustainable way. Accordingly we take time to build personal relationships with the growers and harvesters, some of whom we have known for over twenty years, and all of whom produce their products according to international organic standards. We take time to investigate and understand the origin and production processes and we seek the same level of mutual support with our retail and distribution partners.
All products in our Organic Superfoods range are 100% certified organic (Soil Association license number: DA 17476). Our wild gourmet foods are sustainably harvested from nature and are Certified Products (Soil Association). We don't use air freight, instead we ship our products by sea. We use attractively labelled cardboard drums or glass jars to preserve the goodness of our products and endeavour to optimise re-use, reduction and recycling in all our packaging.
Creating a sustainable business is a continual work in progress but we acknowledge that every long journey starts with the first step. We are currently reviewing University research about embedded carbon throughout the production cycle of the agricultural system and we will apply what we can to our own operations. We shall start sharing our initiatives and results in this area from Autumn 2007 .
If you're trying our products for the first time, I hope that you enjoy them as much as I do. If you're already familiar
with these foods, I am sure that you will enjoy the organic taste and producer's craft that distinguishes Green Bay Harvest's
range of foods and ingredients.![]()
