Joint Health

Unsurprisingly, it is often the weight-bearing joints that give us most trouble, such as hips, knees and ankles. Excess weight can put further unwanted stress on these joints, while the hot, reactive condition rheumatoid arthritis tends to strike first at the hands and feet.

Raised levels of acidity and poor elimination may lead to the body dumping excess wastes in joints, leading to pain and stiffness. Apple Cider Vinegar and Manuka Honey have an alkalising effect on the entire system, reducing the toxic load, while malic acid in Apple Cider Vinegar dissolves uric acid that can cause tightness in joints.

Some joint problems are associated with muscles that have become so tense they are pulling joints out of alignment. Calcium and magnesium are the mineral muscle "soothers": their absorption is enhanced by taking Apple Cider Vinegar, which also provides antioxidants to fight inflammation.

An excess of certain prostaglandins, such as those produced by a heavy meat diet, is a key culprit in joint inflammation. Flax seeds are rich in "good" prostaglandins which counter this inflammation, building healthy cell membranes and soothing tight muscles and joints.
