The sea provides us with an abundance of wild foods. However, it's increasingly important to source these foods from clean seas. Our Fine Sea Salt with Kelp is a perfect example. Both the Kelp and the Salt are sustainably harvested from the clean, mineral-rich seas off the coast of New Zealand.
Unlike many processed table salts, this Fine Sea Salt with Kelp contains naturally occurring trace elements and minerals like calcium and magnesium.
We mix in a pinch of Kelp for a superfood accent. Kelp has been eaten for its' nutritional value for literally thousands of
years and is an excellent source of iodine.![]()

We get our salt from Lake Grassmere, a lagoon which was formed 1,800 years ago. The prevailing wind is a strong, dry 'north-westerly' which creates the ideal conditions for natural salt production.
It takes a full year for the sea water to evaporate naturally in the sun and harvesting takes place in late summer. The salt is then screened, graded and mixed with kelp.
The Kelp is sustainably harvested via a quota system administered by the NZ government. By gathering it before it is washed ashore,
much of its nutritional value is preserved. It is then cut, washed, dried and mixed with sea
salt.![]()
