Harvested in Summer, 2011 by Beekeeper Theodorus Vigillis, this raw honey combines all the beneficial ingredients of thyme, herbs and coniferous trees. The hives are moved mid-season from the late-blossoming mountain Thyme to a secluded spot in the White Mountains, a Greek national park, creating a natural blend of the two floral regions.
Thyme is known by herbalists for its anti-spasmodic, anti-septic and anti-fungal properties; Thyme honey may be used for coughs and for abdominal pain. Fir also is said to have expectorant and antiseptic qualities which makes this a highly suitable choice for coughs and respiratory infection.
The biodiversity of the National parks of Samaria, situated in the White Mountains, is unique. The national parks, unaffected by man, hosts a special variety of fauna and flora. It is the only area in the region where even grazing of livestock is prohibited, so the flora is undisturbed.
